The blade of the scrap metal shredder is an important part of it. When purchasing, it depends on whether the material of the blade is a high-precision alloy steel material, and secondly, whether the welding process of the blade meets the standard. The welding process should be judged from the following requirements:
Check the weld strength: Use a green silicon carbide grinding wheel to grind the back of a shredder knife, check the thickness of the solder layer, and the thickness is required to be below 0.15 mm. There should be no air holes and lack of solder on the bottom surface of the tool tip support, and the weld that is not filled with solder should not be greater than 10% of the total length of the weld. If there are air holes, it will crack the blade when shredding.
Check the position of the shredder blade in the groove: if the blade is dislocated and sagging exceeds the technical conditions, it should be re-welded.
Check the welding strength: Use a wooden hammer or a copper hammer to strike the blade with medium force, or strike the blade with a strong hammer, when the blade does not fall from the groove, it is qualified. To check the welding strength of the blade, it is not necessary to check all of them one by one, and the checking method is also used.
Check the flatness of the shredder blade: if there are obvious pits on the blade, it means that the blade is overheated and deformed, and a new blade should be burned and re-welded.
Check for cracks: After the metal shredder blade has been cleaned with kerosene, if the blade has cracks. The kerosene penetrates into the cracks and black lines appear, which can be detected with the naked eye. It can also be investigated with a magnifying glass of 10-40 times.
Finally, we need to see whether the material shredded by the blade is uniform and can meet the customer's size requirements.
